The Department of Defense Management and Safety Engineering at the Graduate School of Convergence Science at Seoul National University of Science and Technology is a department that trains management (acquisition) and safety experts in the defense field. In the field of defense management, we cultivate specialized knowledge and practical capabilities for efficient execution of the defense budget, optimization of the defense procurement system, and enhancement of the competitiveness of the defense industry. In particular, we conduct education and research focusing on decision-making, cost analysis, and information management in the process of acquiring weapons systems.

In the field of defense safety engineering, we cultivate safety management capabilities in special military environments such as safety in military operations and training environments, safety in the operation of weapons systems, and safety in the storage and handling of military supplies and hazardous materials. In addition, by developing expertise in building a safety management system utilizing the latest technology and establishing policies to establish a safety culture, we foster the ability to work as a military safety expert in the policy departments of the Ministry of National Defense and the Army.

After graduation, you can work as a policy maker in the defense field, a military safety manager, a defense industry manager, a defense consultant, etc., and after discharge, you can be re-employed at the Ministry of National Defense, each military branch, defense industry companies, and national research institutes.
